Purpose:
Licensed Practical Nurses (LPN) play a vital role in the delivery of long-term care services and create a caring and joyful environment for his/her residents.
Avera Ranked 1st in Nation for Long-Term Care Resident Experience Job Summary Performs professional nursing care under supervision utilizing the nursing process.
Coordinates care in an interdisciplinary manner and is accountable for all residents assigned to him/her according to established nurse practice act.
Demonstrates knowledge of the principles of growth and development and possesses the ability to respond to specific issues and data reflective of the resident/customer's status.
Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care for the population served by the facility.
Education and/or Experience Graduation from an accredited school of licensed practical nursing, normally a 12-month curriculum.
Current license to practice in South Dakota.
Successful completion of State Board Exams.
Previous experience in geriatric or medical or surgical preferred.
Experience in dealing with the public and clients required.
Licensure/Certification/Registration Current license to practice nursing in the State of South Dakota.
Membership in professional organization preferred.
CPR certification.
Work Schedule Varied shifts; 72 hours every 2 weeks 11:
00 pm - 7:
30 am, 7:
00 pm - 7:
30 am Every other weekend and holiday Goal of every 3rd weekend and holiday by January Pay The hourly range for this position is listed below.
Actual hourly rate dependent upon experience.
